I was a single mother for many years and couldn't afford to stay home sick. Typically, any job I had had five paid sick days per year. My daughter is a manager for a well-known restaurant and she has only three. I'd go to work sick and tried to keep my sick days.

I still have my baby book (Better Homes and Gardens, circa 1952) and it said that you should expose a baby's arms, legs and face to sun for about 15 minutes per day. In winter they said to do it through a window so the baby didn't chill.

I've heard of "retro", but Victorian era social norms now? Let's see..."unmentionables" (underwear), "in a family way" or "expecting" (pregnant), "that 'nasty' disease" (STD's)...now what shall we call breast cancer?? Sheesh people!!

Good idea, Night Hawk. I think bringing awareness and donating to any form of cancer is great. It's a terrible disease no matter what part of your body it strikes (my aunt died of pancreatic cancer a few years ago).

I think the "adults" (and I use that term loosely) really need to get over it. I am a 58 year old breast cancer survivor. Last year at this time I was having my first chemo session. My last one was February 2nd and I'm slowly but surely recovering from the operations, radiation and chemo.

I had a similar problem during chemo for breast cancer. I wonder if it could be an allergic reaction to something. Even though I had meds for allergic reaction, my tongue, mouth and throat would swell a bit and my whole tongue felt like I'd burned it pretty good with hot food or drink, …

Sucess, Mike! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. I've gone through the breast-saving surgeries and so far, so good, although this whole lymph node thing is pretty sore. Now I'm in the healing phase before radiation therapy and then chemo.
